Thank you for inquiring about A Serenity Place (ASP), our online Al-Anon meeting.  If someone else’s drinking has affected you Al-Anon can help. By reading and participating in our daily topic discussions, the experience, strength, and hope of our many members will be available to you.

ASP is an EMAIL based meeting. Once accepted into ASP, you will receive as many as 35 or more email messages per day. For this reason, we recommend creating a separate email address to use JUST for ASP. (We ask that you do not sign up with a work email address. Al-Anon is an anonymous fellowship and work email addresses are often open to non-Al-Anon server owners.  If you inquired from a work address please include an alternate email address when you reply to this email.)

If you have been deeply affected by another person’s drinking and this looks like your kind of Al-Anon meeting, then send us a note telling us:

1. You would like to join A Serenity Place.
2. That you have read our web page for our Founding Statement and Policies for A Serenity Place.
3. Note that you are or have been affected by someone else’s drinking.
4. Your name, as you want to be called by our members.
5. Are you new to Al-Anon, or new to on-line meetings only?

Al-Anon’s Third Tradition states that “The only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend.”  ASP does ask you to tell us that someone else’s drinking bothers you. If you have questions about this – which is not uncommon among newcomers – or want more information about Al-Anon or ASP before joining – please feel free to ask your greeter. For those familiar with Al-Anon, ASP is a closed meeting.
